Per Bech is a Professor of Applied Psychometrics at the University of Copenhagen. Prior to this he was a Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Odense University and Head of the Psychiatric Unit at Frederiksborg General Hospital. He was one of the founder members of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) in 1987, Past President of the Association of European Psychiatrists (AEP) (1992–1994) and Head of the Research Unit at the World Health Organization (WHO) Centre for Psychometrics (1985–2005).
